Kudos to whoever knows where I got the title from!!
Not a new sketch, but again, never uploaded.
This is after a painting of George Romney's, and while I see an awful lot of flaws in this, it's not horrible, so I'm sharing it anyway. I liked the flowing and billowy nature of the original scarf/fichu/whatever, but I'm not sure I captured that very well here. I was experimenting with using a blending stick on the fabrics, and this is one of my first attempts at drawing men. Sadly I ran out of paper so neither figure has any feet.....

I think this did turn out very well! I love her gown.
I know the quote comes from Emma, I can't help but think of the musical "1776" when I look at the title.
("Is that his wife?"
"Of course she is, John; look at how well they fit!")
