An original French fashion plate from the 1780s, shared with me via a friend who got it from a friend, etc.

I'm not sure how much I like this, as I had a lot of difficulty getting the gown to look the way I wanted (I colored it myself; it was originally black and white) and then had a tough time finding a texture to suit. So, love it or hate it, I guess... All I see are flaws. ;P

I'm not sure about the black - I think I'd have used something lighter - but I love the colouring. I think you did a wonderful job on it. You haven't lost the depth of the original plate, which is always tricky when you're colourising, I know. =) And the plate itself is gorgeous.
Oh, and I'm glad serene-topaz recognised the quote - I knew it, but couldn't for the life of me remember where it was from. She put me out of my misery! =D

I'm not sure about the black either; like I said, I had a lot of problems getting it to cooperate! I'm glad you like the coloring. :D That means a lot coming from someone who does it so often as you! ;-)

LOL! I almost credited P&;P in the description, but I thought it would be more fun to make people guess, hahah. :evillaugh:

You did a good job coloring it! It looks like that is the way it originally was. Love the Pride and Prejudice movie quote for the title. :)
